It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Elements Hostel in Madurai and Chennai.
It has been a wild and wonderful journey for everyone involved, but in the years since the first Elements Hostel opened back in 2005, our focus has slowly switched over to some of our other projects. Our love and energy are spread too thin. Since we can no longer give Elements Hostel/ Hotel the attention it deserves, it is time to set it aside and move forward.
The team behind Elements Hostel is Chennai Event Management Services (CEMS). Elements Hostel was one of our early projects, and over the years, it saw the birth of many wonderful things. The hostel was the original headquarters for our pride and joy 'The Rickshaw Challenge'. This popular Rickshaw Rally marked the start of our foray into adventure tourism. Today, our focus has moved to the planning and organizing endurance rallies and similar adventures around the globe.
Elements Hostel started in Chennai as the first reasonably-priced hostel for travelers. The popularity of Elements Hostel Chennai led us to open Elements Madurai, which was equally successful. As the first of its kind, Elements Hostel was a trendsetter, and it soon became the measure against which all similar establishments were measured.
Elements Hostel Chennai closed its doors in 2007. This was not by choice , the owner of the building sold the property to make way for a shopping mall.
In their days, both branches of Elements Hostel were hotspots of activity. The hostels were featured in all manner of guidebooks and other international publications, from Lonely Planet on down the line. Hundreds of explorers passed through our rooms during their various adventures.
Elements Hostel Madurai is closing to allow us to focus on our true love "Epic adventure". We run several different endurance rallies around the world every year, including the Rickshaw Challenge, the Caucasian Challenge, and even custom build-your-own adventures. We plan, organize, and execute these unique events all through the year.
For weary travelers in need of a place to rest, we will still be there for you. In early April 2009, we will be opening the CEMS Suites, three well-furnished guest rooms on the first floor of our Corporate Office. Anyone interested in learning more about our rooms should contact us.
